Bad Weather

They say people in England talk about the weather too much. But sometimes the weather gets really bad and deserves talking about.

In Guadalajara a storm dumped more than 4 feet of hail from the sky, damaging homes and burying cars. To weather that sort of storm you need to have some serious armour, a cellar or nuclear bunker.

Which makes me think about small animals – ants, beetles, that sort of thing. How do they survive bad weather – surely even droplets of rain would injure them, let alone lightning storms, monsoons, and tsunamis.

With climate change, the weather is set to get even worse. Is this a sign from God? Aliens? Or are we just destined to be the objects of our own demise?

At least we don’t live on Venus, Mercury or any of the other death-traps that litter our solar system. We might leave this planet to further our civilization into space, but I doubt the weather is ever going to improve.

Michael Fish would roll over in his grave.
