Football Shirts

Just because I wear a football shirt doesn’t mean I know about football. For one thing it continually changes so you have to continually update yourself up about it. Every day. Looking at team fixtures and scores, who is injured, who is in form. But people assume you are an expert just because you have a T-shirt on. They ask you questions. They mention facts and figures. I do not know what you are talking about. I don’t know who is playing who. I have a number of different football T-shirts. Many of them in different countries, which don’t get reported in newspapers. How do other people know this stuff?

Don’t get me wrong I’m happy to talk about football. When I know about it. But when its forced on me and I know nothing about what they’re talking about, all I can say is ’I don’t know.’ Which makes me look stupid. So its either that or they think you are a hooligan and beat you up. I just want to wear a nice T-shirt. Leave me alone.
