Olympics and Football

Wow. We even beat the Chinese – a nation of more than a billion people. Maybe they concentrate more on Kung Fu and lion dances but still it’s a tremendous achievement. It’s a shame that we have to wait four years till the next one, and it will be without Mo and Bolt, but maybe there’ll be someone else who can do a bit of pageantry with some sort of new move or dance.

It seems that the national lottery’s money has been used effectively. If footballers got a lot less pay, and forced to work for charity money they might do a lot better – the athletes did very well on it.

Maybe if we had a GB football team (with Gareth Bale) maybe we’d do better than in the Euros or World Cup. I’m sure they all work hard, but a bit of frugality might do the high paid footballers a world of good.

On another note, goalkeepers now seem to have to play football with their feet. Hart who is worth 30 million can’t, so he’s off. I suppose if they can do the job of a keeper and a sweeper at the same time, it opens up your other players to bomb forward a bit.

Claudio Bravo however doesn't seem to be able to keep goal with his hands so I' not too sure if he's an improvement.
